Green Lantern Tavern

Green Lantern Tavern was the reimagined identity for the lower
level of PUBLIC kitchen + bar in the emerging Lowertown neighborhood
in St. Paul. I created an identity system, various illustrations, menus and
signage design, that plays to the secretive nature of the bar, the namesake's
history, and surrounding neighborhood.

The branding and identity take direct inspiration from the 1920's speakeasy of the same name, as well as the lantern that hangs above the door to let you know the bar is open.

The menus were designed to support the vintage aesthetic, impressive
cocktail program, and for ease of navigation with the somewhat
unfamiliar list of drinks.

"We might have thought that the era of the speakeasy was over, but no! Here is a new one, and it’s doing what it’s supposed to do, being sneaky."
